My name is Joe😊…. I’m a “Nannu” which is the Maltese word for “grandfather”…. I’m a Nannu with a passion for traveling. I’m also an avid travel diarist, enjoy travel storytelling and delving into the history of places we visit.
I focus on recording my holiday journeys (any duration) for the benefit of my 6 beloved grandchildren in the hope of instilling in them the love of travel and a desire to experience all that the world has to offer in charm, beauty and adventure.
Living the Dream….
I have been “living the dream” for many years and fully intend to continue doing so until my eventual departure onto a “higher plain”😊. I have also been thinking of sharing some/parts of my travel journal recordings since I retired in the hope of exciting someone else’s life through travel.
I hope this blog will inspire you and so, instead of dreaming to travel, why don’t you plan to travel…and, if you like what you read and it adds more joy to your life, then, as the saying goes, “play it forward” to others….
5-Star Travel Comforts….
I should qualify that when traveling I indulge in the quality comforts available at all destinations (like flying Business Class, hotel suites, etc.). These indulges I cherish.
My firm philosophy is that I’ve worked hard since I was 13 and so I deserve to treat my family and myself…. after all, you can’t take it with you😊.
Holiday Planning….
My insatiable travel desire is captured in an extensive “bucket list” filled with places yet to see (or revisit) and experiences in our beautiful world despite the constant bombardment of negativity assailing our senses every time you open any media!
I’m a very positive individual….in fact, my holiday planning is always a few years in advance and I derive exceptional enjoyment from the research that I do as it fills me with anticipation…. researching is like a constant hit of endorphin for me.
Joe’s Background….
I was born in Malta and fortunately, emigrated to Australia with my family when I was 13 years old. In fact, we left Malta on my 13th birthday😊.
Australia has been a land of opportunity for me and will always be my home yet Malta will always be my motherland. I have succeeded in my career and my life but both would have been meaningless if not for my loving wife, devoted children and beloved grandchildren.
My constant companion….
All my holiday journeys have been in the company of my wife Mary (Nanna). Together we have created many beautiful and simply unforgettable travel memories, all of which have filled and will continue to fill our very soul! The places we’ve been to so far are truly remarkable and the experiences we’ve come across have been amazingly wondrous. We have sailed in many cruises, travelled on many organized tours, partaken in travel adventures with thrilling outcomes and wandered along self-drive holidays. Throughout, we’ve met many amazing people (some becoming firm friends), explored different cultures, reacquainted ourselves with our Maltese heritage and generally enjoyed life.
