Thru Nannu's eyes: Fontaine de Vaucluse....

We spent a week in Fontaine de Vaucluse in the district of Provence, France and stayed in an “Adagio Suite” at Hotel du Poete ….Incredibly, this hotel is classified as 3-star yet I would very easily have elevated it to a 5-Star given its many appointments, service, friendliness, position and ambiance….

Fontaine de Vaucluse is a charming little town in picturesque country surroundings and sits on an enchanting crisscross of waterways. The rushing waters, the occasional watermill & waterwheel and the incredible tapestry of vegetation made our stay here idyllic.

Our week included discovering the surrounding district. We spent a full day exploring the town of Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, ambled through Roussillon on another day (ochre coloured cliffs), revisited Gorde and of course Arles (Van Gogh Café). We visited a number of other delightful villages and vineyards in Provence including Chateauneuf du Pape.

All of our evening meals for the week where in different restaurants throughout Fontaine de Vaucluse and what an exceptional experience this was as we savoured local fare and wines AND each restaurant (each with magnificent views) was within walking distance of our hotel…..highly recommend a stay here….can’t wait to come back.

Hope you enjoy exploring this little bit of Provence Thru Nannu’s Eyes…..
