Thru Nannu's eyes: Mornington Peninsula
The Mornington Peninsula in VIC, is an exceptional holiday region within Australia and it caters for every budget. It boasts most cuisines and abundance of activities. The region offers numerous wineries delivering excellent wines and fabulous accommodation options…. and of course, this peninsula is not only steeped in Australian/Victorian history but has superlative bush reserves, pristine beaches and challenging bush & cliff walks.
On our way to the Mornington Peninsula, Nanna and I lunched at Gunning (NSW), a serene farming town/area and overnighted at Milawa (in the King Valley of VIC) were we stayed at the Lancemore-Milawa. Milawa is a quaint welcoming village and worth exploring and the cuisines and wines on offer.
In Mornington, we stayed at Frogs Pond B&B (Red Hill) for a week. This accommodation within the Frogs Pond Vineyard is fabulous for its views, attention to detail, superb appointments, a lovely accommodating hostess who was welcoming to Nanna and I.
The Mornington Peninsula is host to incredible towns like Sorrento, Portsea, Mornington, etc offering shopping restaurants, art galleries, clubs and pubs. It’s also home to significant historical sites such as the Quarantine Station, Cape Schanck, etc. Its dotted with walking tracks through numerous reserves such as Point Nepean National Park and attractions such as Arthurs Seat Eagle which offers an incredible birds-eye view from its gondola lift, of the the entire peninsula, Port Phillip Bay and Melbourne’s CBD on the horizon.
Do yourself a favour….visit this region, with a loved one and enjoy the delights of this Australian holiday spot….
On the way back home we overnighted at Hillview Farmstay @ Tumblong. We have never stayed in such an accommodation and what a wonderful, restful and pleasant experience it was and highly recommended it for families….
